What is Paddlefest?
Delaware Seashore State Park's Paddlefest began in 2017, planned as a special one-time event, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the state park. That first year was SO. MUCH. FUN. Park staff and paddlefest participants knew Paddlefest needed to be an annual event.
What's DIFFERENT in 2023
It is important to know that Paddlefest 2023 falls during LOW TIDE. The course will not meander through as many protected marsh creeks and will be more susceptible to wind as we paddle closer to the open bay. Also, due to low tide, we will need to launch at the launch further from the Savages Ditch parking lot, so be prepared to carry your kayak 200 yards. And the best part (or worst, depending on your style) will be the low tide mud! We will be paddling in VERY shallow areas, so be prepared to get MUDDY! Closed-toe shoes are REQUIRED - NO FLIP FLOPS!
